Gosh darn it! It's been almost 12 months since we've been wearing our masks. Because of COVID-19 most states still have a mandated mask order in place to help stop the spread. While we're all happy to do our part many of us are feeling the effects of having to wear a mask so much. Our skin is suffering badly. Wearing a mask 7-8 hours a day creates indentions, lines, and issues that some may never recover from.
I noticed that most of my clients who were experiencing more breakouts than others all had the same thing in common.
Here are 3 Ways To Prevent Mask Breakouts.
1. Moisturize Your Skin- It's especially important to moisturize your skin during this time to try to create that moisture barrier between the fabric and your skin. You want to make sure that when your mask touches the skin, it's not dry.
2. Change Your Mask Daily- I've found that this method works best. Starting out with a clean, fresh mask is a surefire way to know your mask is clean.
3. Incorporate The 60 Second Rule- Have you heard of LAbeautyologist's "60 Second Rule?" Last year I stumbled upon her Youtube page and I loved this recommendation. She recommends washing your face for 60 seconds with the product of your choice to allow enough time for it to do what it's supposed to do. Try it!
I’m pretty sure you will see improvement if you incorporate the 3 things above. Looks like we're going to be in masks for a little longer.
Hope this helps!
Good luck boo!
